The Konica Minolta Bizhub C224e is an A3/SRA3 colour copier, printer and scanner from Konica Minolta’s bizhub e-Series. Its manufacturer-rated A4 output reaches 22 pages per minute in colour and black and white. It is a floor-standing office multifunction system with network printing, colour document capture and automatic two-sided output.

Output and image quality

Konica Minolta specifies 600 × 600 dpi for copying and print modes up to 1,200 × 1,200 dpi. The copier handles A3 originals and supports SRA3 media in the designated cassette and bypass paths. Colour scanning can create common document formats, including PDF, TIFF and JPEG.

Paper handling

The base machine has two 550-sheet paper cassettes and a 165-sheet multipurpose bypass, a total of 1,265 sheets. Compatible additional feeders can raise input to 3,815 sheets on this model. Built-in duplex printing handles supported A-series paper without manually turning pages.

Scanning

The 130-sheet dual-scan document feeder is optional on the C224e; scan throughput therefore depends on the chosen configuration. Konica Minolta lists scan-to-email and network delivery through SMB and FTP, with USB media supported for document workflows. Colour and black-and-white originals can be digitised at up to 600 dpi. Where the dual-scan feeder is present, the system can capture both sides of a sheet during one pass.

Controller and connections

The built-in print controller has 2 GB of standard memory and a 250 GB hard disk. Standard wired interfaces include Gigabit Ethernet and high-speed USB 2.0 for network or direct connections. PCL, PostScript-compatible and XPS print languages are listed by the manufacturer. Finishing and analogue fax functions depend on optional units fitted to the individual device.
