The Kyocera ECOSYS M2040dn is a compact A4 monochrome multifunction printer with copying, printing and colour scanning. Kyocera rates it at 40 A4 pages per minute and specifies a standard 50-sheet document processor. The M2040dn is distinct from the related M2540dn and M2640idw: fax is limited to those two models, and this machine uses a five-line LCD.

• Functions. The standard functions are monochrome copying and printing plus colour scanning. Fax is listed only for the M2540dn and M2640idw.
• A4 speed. The Kyocera main table gives the M2040dn a 40-page-per-minute A4 monochrome print engine.
• Paper size. The cassette, optional feeders and multipurpose tray accept paper up to A4 or Legal size.
• Standard input. A 250-sheet cassette and 100-sheet multipurpose tray provide 350 sheets of standard input.
