The Kyocera ECOSYS MA4500x is an A4 black-and-white multifunction printer for copying, printing and colour scanning. Its rated output is 45 A4 pages per minute. This exact x variant has a five-line LCD and a 75-sheet reversing document feeder; fax belongs to the separate fx and ifx models, so it is not presented as a function here.

Specifications and workflow

• Functions. The MA4500x combines monochrome copy and print output with colour scanning. The manufacturer reserves fax capability for the MA4500fx, MA4500ifx and MA6000ifx variants.
• A4 speed. Kyocera rates the MA4500x engine at 45 black-and-white A4 pages per minute for routine office documents.
• Paper size. The standard cassette handles media from A5R to A4 or Legal. The multipurpose tray accepts smaller custom sheets and supported banner paper.
• Standard input. Base paper input is 600 sheets: a 500-sheet cassette and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray for other supported stock.
• Maximum input. Four optional 500-sheet PF-3110 feeders can increase input from the standard 600 sheets to a maximum of 2,600 sheets.
• Duplex. The integrated duplex unit handles A5R through A4 or Legal paper in the manufacturer-listed weight range.
• Document feeder. A standard 75-sheet reversing automatic document feeder helps copy and scan multi-page originals, including two-sided documents.
• Control panel. This x model uses a five-line LCD rather than the seven-inch touch display fitted to other models in the family.
• Copy resolution. Copy resolution is specified at 600 by 600 dpi. The print section separately lists 600 dpi, Fast 1200 and Fine 1200 modes.
• First print. Kyocera gives 5.3 seconds or less as the first monochrome print time for this 45 ppm model.
• Connections. Standard connectivity includes Gigabit wired Ethernet, high-speed USB 2.0 and two USB host interfaces.
• Scanning. The scanner can deliver files to email, SMB network folders, FTP or USB, with TWAIN and WSD scan support.
