The Ricoh Aficio MP 301SPF is a compact monochrome multifunction printer for copying, printing, colour scanning and fax. Its print and copy engine is rated at up to 31 Letter pages per minute. Ricoh places the paper supply, reversing document feeder and network functions in a desktop design suited to shared office documents.

Printing and copying

The standard paper path handles documents up to Legal size. Copy and print resolution are specified at 600 × 600 dpi, and automatic two-sided printing is built in for supported media. The 31 ppm figure is Ricoh’s Letter-size rating; speed on other formats may differ. A 1 GB standard memory allocation supports the machine’s print, copy and scan processing.

Paper handling

One 250-sheet cassette and a 100-sheet bypass tray make up 350 sheets of base input. The bypass gives another feed path for supported paper without unloading the main tray. With Ricoh’s optional drawers, maximum capacity reaches 1,350 sheets. A standard 50-sheet automatic reversing feeder takes stacks of originals for copying, scanning and faxing, including two-sided originals.

Scanning and fax

The scanner captures both black-and-white and colour originals. Ricoh lists delivery to email, network folders, USB drives and SD cards, allowing paper documents to enter several digital workflows. The machine’s Super G3 fax function handles conventional fax traffic; the brochure also describes Internet and IP fax capabilities. The reversing feeder keeps multi-page original sets in order.

Connections and controls

Built-in 10/100 Ethernet allows use as a network printer and scanner. USB and SD media support provide local ways to move files. The touch-panel display gives direct access to common machine functions, while the copier can handle oversized originals on the glass within Ricoh’s stated size limits. Optional interface accessories are separate from the standard wired network connection.
